Good BBQ with live music. Choice of chicken, beef or pork. We ate on the patio, a raised platform with railing, with our Dobe. They brought her a water dish and kept coming back to check on all of us. This is the last restaurant in a complex, next to a large well kept park, so when we finished dinner we were able to take our dog out for a well earned run on the grass. Doggie poop bag stands were readily available throughout this complex, as well as trash bins.

This amazing little chain has five locations, I have only visited two, but I love the one in Eagle Rock. It is surrounded by outside tables under big oak trees and dogs are welcome on the fenced patio. A larger patio on the side has allowed us to hold meetings of our dog obedience club, with a bit of notice so they knew we were coming for lunch. We even awarded a prize for the dog/owner combination with the best canine manners. The food covers breakfast, lunch and dinner with a choice of different fish in your tacos, tostados or just about anything. Their salads with a choice of chicken, fish or shrimp is wonderful. www.senorfish.net/menu/

Fido to Go Gourmutt Food Truck Unleashed in Chicago
Tails Will Wag as Truck Brings Treats to Four-legged Friends
Chicago, IL, (April 11, 2011) – I bark, you bark, we all bark for… Ice Cream? Fido to Go, Chicago’s premier provider of gourmet dog treats for dogs on the go, announces the launch of its gourmutt food truck of natural, healthy dog treats, including hand-crafted canine cookies and doggy ice creams. The first mobile dog treat vendor in Chicago, Fido to Go will normally be found sniffing around at various local dog parks, beaches and special events, and will debut at Anti-Cruelty Society’s Annual Bark in the Park Event on Saturday, May 7th at Montrose Harbor in Chicago.
“We’re excited to bring cool, summertime refreshments to our fur-covered friends for Chicago’s dog-days of summer,” said Werner. “Chicago’s dog community is very welcoming, and we think they’ll love this fun, new concept,”
Delivering nutritious and tasty treats to Chicago’s canine community, while also providing a positive message about health, safety and the environment, Fido to Go’s extensive menu, made from all natural ingredients, includes grain and gluten-free baked cookies, whole-wheat biscuits, and a variety of frozen delights among other healthy treats. And, there’s no waste (ahem) as the Fido to Go merchandise bags also double as biodegradable pet waste bags.

We sat in the charming back patio and they even brought a basket of dog treats out for our German-Shep. We had a vegetarian meatball sandwich, a very original veggie cheeseburger and a great Petit Syrah. It was all delicious, creative and the people are very down-to-earth friendly. This place is not vegetarian but there are lots of vegan/veggie options. We are absolutely thrilled we found this hidden gem. The owners are true animal lovers too!

This restaurant is all about four legged, furry companions. They have several water bowls placed conspicuously throughout their patio. They give out dog treats like candy, and even have a special menu just for dogs, consisting of things like turkey patties and brown rice. And on Fridays, dogs eat for free with the purchase of an entree. I bring my pooch to dine there often. To check out their doggie menu go to www.rootsgourmet.com
